Alonso will need seven to nine months to recover from the ACL tear.
It is a tough break for the Bills after Alonso was third in the NFL’s defensive rookie of the year voting last season. His 159 tackles was third most in the NFL.
The Bills will now be looking for options to fill the weak side of their defense, where Alonso was expected to shift to this season.
