Former Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton was arrested Christmas morning on one count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon in Greenwood, Indiana.
Tipton was released by the Colts earlier this week. The running back who is now a free agent said he had received threatening text messages from the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend and believed she was in harm. At that point the 25-year-old drove to his girlfriend’s house and a fired a round from an AR-15 assault rifle before fleeing the scene.

Police tracked Tipton down a frew blocks away. He was arrested but cooperated with authorities. He has a valid license to carry the gun and was then relased on $3,000 bond.
Tipton ran 10 times for 18 yards while catching six passes for 68 yards and a touchdown this season. He will attempt to land a spot on a teams’ practice squad during the offseason.
