Former Oklahoma Sooners tight end and quarterback Blake Bell was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
The selection of Bell was announced on ESPN by country music entertainer Kenny Chesney at Levi’s Stadium.
Bell spent four years as a quarterback and short yardage running back for the Sooners before converting to the tight end position this season.
Bell ran for 23 touchdowns between the 2011 and 2012 seasons. As a quarterback in 2013 he was 140 of 233 for 1648 yars with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. He caught 16 passes as a senior in 2014 including four touchdowns.
