The New England Patriots have parted ways with defensive lineman Vince Wolford saving over $8 million against the salary cap for the 2015 season.

Wilfork’s days with the Patriots have been numbered for a few years now and it finally ends here. For what it is worth he does not plan to retire after playing well during the 2014 season. The market for the 33-year-old may prove to be bare.

During his prime Wilfork went to five Pro Bowls in his 11 year career while adding two Super Bowl rings. Wilford did not register a sack last season but was involved in 47 tackles.
