San Diego Chargers center Nick Hardwick has retired from football.
Hardwick, 33, spent much of the season on injured reserve after suffering a neck injury. He considered retiring last offseason as well but opted to return to the Chargers.
In his career the third round pick made 136 starts for the Chargers and appeared in the Pro Bowl once.
The decision by Hardwick to retire is not a surprise but sets the wheels in motion for the team to revamp their ineffectivce offensive line this offseason.
