The Bears have added former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase to their staff.

Gase goes from operating a staff with future hall of famer Peyton Manning and a core of talented receivers to the Bears. His first task will be trying to figure out if quarterback Jay Cutler is salvageable. The Bears do have two big time receivers in Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall and have Matt Forte out of the backfield.

In Chicago the one time head coach candidate will be reunited with John Fox who he served under in Denver. The two showed they could put points on the board and dominate in the regular season but were let go after failing to win the Super Bowl.

49ers making push to keep Eric Mangini

The 49ers are talking to Eric Mangini about their defensive coordinator spot. Mangini is looking at a promotion after serving as the 49ers tight end coach a season ago.

Mangini is best known for his head coaching stints with the Jets and Browns. He recently talked to the Raiders about their defensive coordinator opening.

The 49ers lost Vic Fangio to the Bears after he was passed over for the 49ers head coaching job.
