Trent Richardson missed Saturday walkthough

Already third on the depth chart, Trent Richardson missed the Colts walkthough on Saturday.

That action was enough for the team to rule him out of Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the Patriots. Richardson did not travel with the team and will now watch this game at home – granted if he feels like it.

The Colts will go with Dan Herron and Zurlon Tipton in the backfield for their biggest game of the year.

It has become far too easy to bag on Richardson. The former first round pick has struggled mightily to start his NFL career and has actually seen his numbers decrease since being acquired from the Browns.

In 15 regular season games this season Richardson totaled 519 yards on 159 carries finding the endzone three times. He added 27 receptions for 229 yards.

Richardson has a $3.2 million guaranteed salary for the 2015 season but it is becoming more and more likely that the Colts just outright cut him to simply have the roster space for someone who brings something to the team.
