Colts linebacker Josh McNary has been charged with rape.
McNary, 26, has been also been charged with one count of criminal confinement and one count of battery.
The Indiana Star reports the following:
A 29-year-old woman told police a man she met at a Downtown bar after a long night of drinking took her to his apartment and raped her. According to a probable cause affidavit, the two ended up in a bedroom where he tried to kiss her face and neck. The woman said the man got upset and became aggressive after she turned down his advances.
The incident took place on Dec. 1 and the Colts are aware of the charges but will wait to see the facts before deciding what to do with McNary.
“We are aware that there has been a report about Josh McNary, but unfortunately that’s the limit of our knowledge. At this time we are very concerned and trying to find out what the relevant facts are, but we have insufficient information to venture any opinion. As we learn more we will make appropriate updates.”
While McNary played in 15 regular season games – totaling 262 snaps – he has not seen the field in the post season.
