The Redskins will interview 49ers tight end coach Eric Mangini for their vacant defensive coordinator position.
Mangini is a defensive minded coach who previously has served as the head coach of the Jets wand Browns. Before all that he served as a defensive coordinator.
The Raiders interviewed Mangini for their head coaching vacancy but he is not considered a strong candidate for that position. Signs are pointing to Tony Sparano retaining that position.
A year after finishing 24th against the pass the Redskins will need to add some secondary help regardless of who they hire.
