Dolphins ready to fire Joe Philbin at end of season

The Dolphins began the season with an upset win over the Patriots. On Sunday they were blown out by that same Patriots team.

With their early season win the Dolphins got out to a 5-3 start with head coach Joe Philbin but since have lost four of their last six and are all but out of the playoff picture at 7-7 on the season.

Philbin was 15-17 over his first two seasons as the Dolphins head coach and even if the team were to finish with nine wins this season – they have games against the Vikings and Jets left – it hardly shows any growth.

The Dolphins are expected to go hard after Jim Harbaugh this offseason as owner Stephen Ross showed interest in him when he made the move from Stanford to the NFL a few years ago.
