Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had thrown a touchdown in 51 straight games entering Sunday.
While the Broncos had little trouble dispatching the Bills, Manning’s streak was not as fortunate coming to an end.
It was a very un-Manning-like performance as he was 14-of-20 for 173 yards while throwing two interceptions in what turned out to be a 24-17 win. Manning’s quarterback rating of 56.9 was the lowest in six years.
Manning’s streak ends four games short of the record set by Drew Brees between 2009-12.
C.J. Anderson was given the ball three times on short touchdown runs for a Broncos team that has become more run oriented.
Up next for the Broncos are the Chargers, a team that Manning threw three touchdowns against earlier this year.
