The Steelers defense has been wrecked by injuries over the last few weeks with safety Troy Polamalu, linebacker Ryan Shazier and cornerback Ike Taylor out. On Sunday the Steelers expect all three men to return to the field as the team comes off its bye week.
This is great news for a defense which has had trouble stopping even the likes of Michael Vick and Zach Mettenberger in recent weeks. While Polamalu and Taylor hardly are the players they were at their prime both are a noticeable step up from what is on the field currently. Shazier who was dealing with an ankle injury has the ability to cover sideline to sideline.
The Steelers host the Saints on Sunday.
