Ronnie Hillman to miss time with foot sprain

A mid-foot sprain in the right foot of Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman will cost him “at least two weeks” according to the Denver Post.

Hillman was injured in Sunday’s blowout win over Oakland. While the injury is unfortunate for Hillman the Broncos have already turned to C.J. Anderson who took the featured back role and ran with it on Sunday.

The Broncos figure to keep giving Anderson the ball after he showed versatility in the pass game and a strong downhill approach as a runner.

Behind Anderon on the depth chart is Juwan Thompson. A returning Montee Ball is nothing more than a timeshare back right now.

On the season Hillman has 91 rushes for 378 yards (4.2 average) with two touchdowns. In the passing game he has 20 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown.

While his season numbers look solid it’s worth pointing out that over the past two weeks Hillman had just 29 yards rushing on 16 attempts.
