Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals are working towards a contract extension which could get done “in the very near future” according to Pro Football Talk.
Palmer will turn 35 in late December but has been playing at a high level in Bruce Arians’ offense leading the Cardinals to a NFC best 7-1 start this season.
The Cardinals likely are looking for something in the three to four-year range. Currently Palmer is being paid $9 million a season with a $1 million roster bonus.
In his five games this season Palmer has completed 61.7-percent of his passes for 1385 yards while owning an 11:2 touchdown to interception ratio.
Drew Stanton moved he could at-least get the Cardinals wins without Palmer but it is without question that this offensive unit is oiled up and ready to go when Palmer is under center.
