Suspended running back Ray Rice could be reinstated to the NFL in mid-November reports CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

“An appeal hearing date has been set, with a final decision expected to come in an expeditious manner thereafter, and all of that could be resolved by mid-November,” writes La Canfora.

The former Ravens running back continues to say he did not lie in his initial hearing with commissioner Roger Goodell.

Rice and his camp believe he should only be suspended for six games as a first time offender.

Getting Rice a contract may be a tough task for his agent given the PR nightmare that could follow with his signing. Still La Canfora believes there could be a few teams interested wrting:

If he is, would a team like the Colts, coached by former Ravens assistant Chuck Pagano who thinks highly of Rice, or New England, where Bill Belichick has very strong ties to Rice’s college coach, Greg Schiano, take a chance on Rice if they need a running back down the stretch?

It is worth remembering that Rice only totaled 660 yards and a 3.1 average in 2013.
