While the Jacksonville Jaguars have maintained that Blake Bortles would learn from the bench this season the first round pick is trying his best to change their mind.
In Thursday’s preseason game against Chicago, Bortles was 11-of-17 passes for 160 yards while appearing calm in the pocket.
Of course all of Bortles’ action this preseason has come against second and third team defenses which is hardly what he would be seeing on a weekly basis if he were to start.
Incumbent Chad Henne had an equally impressive night that will get lost in the Bortles talk. Henne was 12-of-17 for 130 yards while tossing a touchdown pass to Marquise Lee.
