Jaguars: Blake Bortles not seeing any snaps with first team offense

The Jacksonville Jaguars pounced on quarterback Blake Bortles with the No. 3 draft pick. While the Jaguars have stated they were fine with Bortles sitting on the bench all season behind Chad Henne, who could have expected they were this serious?

According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union, Bortles has taken as many snaps with the Jaguars first team offense as you and me. Zero.

The Jaguars are going to start Henne in their preseason opener and thus far seem committed to allowing him to start the season. How long that plan lasts remains to be seen. The Jaguars travel to Philadelphia and Washington beofre returning home to take on Indianapolis.

The 29-year-old Henne completed 60.6-percent of his passes last season for 3,241 yards to go with 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. While most of those numbers seem workable it is worth mentioning that much of those stats were accumulated during garbage time with the outcome of the game not in doubt.
