Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch intends to skip mandatory minicamp because he wants a new contract.

“It’s very, very unlikely that Lynch will be there,” reports ESPN. “He wants the Seahawks to renegotiate his current contract and provide him with more up-front money.”

The 28-year-old Lynch is currently in the third year of a four year deal worth $30 million. His base salary for this season is $5 million while next year he is slated to make $5.5 million. If he skips the mandatory camp he would incur $70,000 in fines.

Last season Lynch ran for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns in helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl last season. He has topped 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons.
