The Super Bowl is turning 50 in 2016.
To celebrate this occasion the NFL is ditching the roman numerals and pulling out numbers that everyone can recognize. 50. Yes, like your Aunt or Uncle the NFL will have a big 5-0 on its logo for Super Bowl 50.
It probably had more to do with the fact that Super Bowl 50 would have simply been the letter “L”…
After Super Bowl 50, the NFL will bring back Roman numerals again for Super Bowl LI.
