Eagles to keep Darren Sproles to 6-8 touches

The Philadelphia Eagles are planning to give Darren Sproles 6-8 offensive touches a game according to Philadelphia Inquirer.

With the Saints, Sproles average 9.54 touches a game over the last three seasons. Approaching 31 he is slowly but surely losing some of his speed. Still he should be an option for receptions in place of DeSean Jackson.

Of course Sproles is not about to begin comparing the two.

“We’re two different players, two different positions,” said Sproles, who speaks deliberately, choosing words carefully, having battled a stuttering problem since childhood. “So, I can’t [replace Jackson].” He said Jackson “has that track speed.”

Sproles is not a factor to cut into LeSean McCoy’s workload.
