The San Francisco 49ers drafted running back Marcus Lattimore in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft even though they knew he was unlikely to see the field for his rookie season.
On Friday the 49ers released a video of Lattimore returning to action. Lattimore can be seen running a round, doing some light cutting and then catching a pass.
Lattimore is going to have to show that he is ready to contribute this season. Frank Gore returns to the 49ers and Carlos Hyde was drafted this year. Add in Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James and Anthony Dixon and you can see someone is going to be the odd man out rather quickly.
