Former New York Giants defensive back Tyler Sash was arrested Saturday morning after leading Oskaloosa (Iowa) police on a chase while riding his motorized scooter.

Sash eventually ditched the scooter and tried to flee on foot, choosing to hide behind a tree. Once found police used a stun gun on Sash.

Tyler Sash, 25, was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Matthew Moore, Sash’s attorney, said he would not comment on the pending charges. Moore said his client plans to plead not guilty, and “trust the justice system”, via USA Today.

Between 2011 and 2012 Sash appeared in 23 games for the Giants. He was suspended last July for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Sash said at the time his suspension stemmed from his use of the prescription drug Adderall.
