Entering day 3 of NFL Draft, Houston Texans still need QB?

The Houston Texans have not addressed the most glaring hole on their roster, quarterback.

Matt Schaub is gone via trade, Ryan Fitzpatrick signed as a free agent and while Case Keenum remains on the roster the Texans had been expected to take a quarterback in this years draft.

Their options are shrinking.

Not a lot separates the quarterbacks left in this years draft. Tom Savage of Pitt, Aaron Murray of Georgia, A.J. McCarron of Alabama and Zach Mettenberger of LSU are the most recognizable names in the draft. Any of these names could go in the fourth round and it is almost a guarantee that one or maybe even two could be left on the board in round five.

For a team which many have said was only a player or two away from a playoff return, failing to address the quarterback spot is not going to stop a streak of 14 losses.

Perhaps the Texans see more needs than anyone else and are content with simply starting Fitzpatrick this season. Next years class of quarterbacks is set to include Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Brett Hundley, Bryce Petty and Kevin Hogan .
