The New York Giants have found another backup to Eli Manning.

A day after Matt Flynn spurned the Giants in order to re-sign with Green Bay the G-Men have signed Josh Freeman.

Freeman was given a one-year deal by the Giants as the team was forced to go with the best available option left on the free agent market but his roster spot is hardly guaranteed with Curtis Painter and Ryan Nassib already on the roster.

There is plenty of talent in Freeman that he could win the No. 2 job on the Giants but concerns about his work ethic have been raised since last years falling out with now deposed Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano which in part had to do with Freeman’s inability to arrive to meetings or team functions on time.

Following his release by the Buccaneers last season the now 26-year-old Freeman made one start for Minnesota against the Giants. In that contest he looked confused completing just 20-of-53 passes for 190 yards with an interception while overthrowing receivers thought out what was a 23-7 win for the Giants.
