The Oakland Raiders are “very close” to signing free agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew. CSN’s Scott Blair reports that “all signs point to this thing getting done very soon.”
Jones-Drew, 29, would give the Raiders someone to share time with the recently re-signed Darren McFadden.

There have not been a lot of reported interest in Jones-Drew during free agency. In 15 games last season he totaled 803 yards (3.4 average) with five touchdowns. He added 43 receptions for 314 yards. Jones-Drew is a few years removed from being one of the NFL’s elite backs but the Raiders could do worse here.
