The Detroit Lions have cut ties with safety Louis Delmas and wide receiver Nate Burleson

By cutting Delmas the Lions will save $6 million against the salary cap while Burleson’s cut will save $5.5 million.

Delmas was owed a $500,000 roster bonus on March 15. Las season he had 64 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions. He appeared in all 16 games for the Lions after previously having trouble staying on the field. He should have little problem finding a new home.

Burleson’s release was a no-brainder as he appeared in nine games catching 39 passes for 461 yards and a touchdown.
