Bears remain interested in bringing back Josh McCown

The Chicago Bears remain intersted in bringing back free agent quarterback Josh McCown according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

Mortensen told views of Sunday Countdown that he had spoken to Bears head coach Marc Trestman and that the team “would love to have” the backup quarterback back.

While McCown performed better than expected when thrust into the starting role in 2013, there’s been no reason to believe that the 34-year-old would choose to play anywhere besides Chicago next season.

In eight games McCown completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 1,8229 yards while throwing 13 touchdowns and just one interception.
