Trent Richardson finished the Indianapolis Colts season ending defeat against the New England Patriots with one yard.

Richardson’s carries went for 2 yards, 0 yards and -1 yards. A week ago he had one carry which resulted in a fumble.

It was a sad and fitting end to the season for Richardson who finished the regular season with 563 yards (3.0 avg) and three touchdowns.

The Colts had hoped for better when they acquired Richardson following the loss of Ahmad Bradshaw. In the end Richardson lost the starters role to Donald Brown while the Colts attempted to say that acquiring Richardson was about the future.

With Brown headed towards free agency and the Colts having given up their first round pick for Richardson the team will be forced to give him the chance to become their lead running back in 2014.
