Ravens sign Cierre Wood to future contract

The Baltimore Ravens have signed running back Cierre Wood to a futures contract.

Wood was let go by the Houston Texans in October after he allegedly smoked marijuana in the team hotel during a road game. The Patriots later picked him up and stashed him on their practice squad.

A former standout at Notre Dame, Wood averaged 5.5 yards on 35 carries in the preseason. Wood will stand a decent chance of cracking the Ravens roster for 2014.
