Brandon Jacobs is hanging up the cleats.
Jacobs, 31, announced his retirement from football via twitter.
“I’ve had an amazing run and I appreciate all of the support from the fans through the good and the bad,”
“The New York Giants are a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long.”
Jacobs lasted nine seasons in the NFL, most of which was spent with the New York Giants. Plagued by knee injuries in recent seasons he underwent surgery recently.
In his career Jacobs ran for 5,094 yards averaging 4.5 yards per carry. He recorded 60 rushing touchdowns, four of which came this season.
