One of the most mysterious quarterback situations of 2013 was the handling of Josh Freeman by the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings signed Freeman shortly after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave up on the signal caller and allowed him to start in Week 7. Freeman was 20-of-53 for 190 yards with an interception and a sack in a loss to the New York Giants. Those numbers only begin to show how confused Freeman looked under center.

Citing multiple sources, USA Today reports that Freeman had many of the same problems in Minnesota that he was said to have in Tampa Bay.

“Debacle,” a Vikings player said of the quarterback situation. “When they started Josh in that Giants game, we were as confused as anybody.”

Four people told USA TODAY Sports that Freeman was late for numerous meetings in his roughly three months with the Vikings. A third player said Freeman often was among the last players to the facility.

Freeman will be a free agent while Frazier was fired on Monday.
