Sean Lee was absent from the football field as the Dallas Cowboys season came to an end.

The Cowboys believe that Lee will avoid surgery on his neck, an injury that occurred on Dec. 9.

“We think this is a time thing,” coach Jason Garrett said. “We don’t think it’s a surgery thing.”

One of the NFL’s best linebackers, Lee has missed 15 of the Cowboys last 32 games. His presence has the ability to cover up porous spots of the Cowboys defense but his absence has created a feeding frenzy for opposing teams.

Playing in Lee’s spot, DeVonte Holloman racked up 11 tackles and two sacks against the Eagles in the Cowboys 24-22 season ending defeat.

This is hardly the last Sean Lee update before training camp.
