The Dallas Cowboys refused to rule out quarterback Tony Romo for their Week 17 winner-take all game against the Philadelphia Eagles until Friday morning.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett confirmed that Romo underwent back surgery and will miss the season finale.

Kyle Orton will start for the Cowboys. Orton has attempted 15 passes over his two seasons with the Cowboys. He will be backed up by recently signed Jon Kitna.

The winner of Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and Eagles will determine the NFC East and allow one team into the playoffs.
