Brandon Stokley has made the decision to retire fro football.
A 15-year veteran, Stokley was recently placed on injured reserve after his latest concussion. The 37-year-old said he knew the latest head injury was the end of his career.
“I’m glad I played this year because now I know I’m done,” Stokley said Thursday. “Had I not played this year, I would have always felt I could have kept playing. I still know I can play but my body just can’t go through it anymore.”
A former fourth-round pick he had his best years while catching passes from Peyton Manning.
Stokley will end his career with 397 catches for 5,339 yards and 39 touchdowns.
