Wes Welker ruled out against Texans, until playoffs

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has been ruled out for their Week 16 contest againt the Houston Texans.

Welker, 32, has missed the last two days of practice and sat out last week.

With Welker out of the Broncos lineup the expect Andre Caldwell to pick up extra targets. At 11-3 the Broncos are tied with the Chiefs for the best record in the AFC but are not about to risk the health of Welker with just two games remaining. They want him healthy and ready to go for the playoffs.

Welker caught 73 passes for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns during his 13 games this season.
