The NFL career of London Fletcher is set to come to a close at the end of the season.
Fletcher, 38, is ready to hang it up and wanted to have a chance to say his farewell’s to the Redskin faithful at the home finale against Dallas on Sunday.
The veteran is “99 percent certain” that he’s stepping away from the game but will speak to his wife before making it official.
“I felt like I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish in the National Football League,” Fletcher said, via The Washington Post.
Fletcher has had a remarkably consistent career even if it was played in the shadows of Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis.
“I’m not 28,” he said. “I’m 38. I understand that.”
The Redskins are ready to win one for Fletcher. They get to host the Dallas Cowboys with a chance to derail their divisional rivals playoff hopes.
