Adrian Peterson will avoid surgery for his injured foot but will not play in the Minnesota Vikings Week 15 game.
Peterson is not expected to take the field against the Philadelphia Eagles after suffering what the Vikings are calling a “mid-foot sprain” on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Per source with knowledge of situation, Adrian Peterson won’t need surgery. Unlikely he plays this week, though.

With the Vikings 3-9-1 on the season there is little reason for them to push Peterson. Toby Gerhart will take on the lead back duties for the Vikings.
