Tampa Bay Buccaneers S Dashon Goldon won his appeal and will play this weekend against the New England Patriots.

He will still be facing a heavy fine for  his illegal helmet-to-helmet hit on a defenseless New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles in Sunday’s Week 2 loss.

Goldson’s suspension was for the result of  ”a flagrant and repeat violation of rules prohibiting hits to the head and neck area.”

Goldson has 15 personal foul penalties since the start of the 2010 season. He is in his first season with Tampa after signing a five-year, $41.25 million contract in the off season. He played his first six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
