Report: Bucs coach rigged captain voting against QB Josh Freeman

bucslife

Reports are circulating that Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano rigged the out come of a team election so that quarterback Josh Freeman would not be named captain.

A fifth year player, Freeman had been a team captain on the Buccaneers for the last three years but Schiano and the Buccaneers spent a third round draft pick on Mike Glennon in April.

According to the Tampa Bay Times the coach takes credit for counting the votes and says that Freeman was not chosen.

Reports are also circulating that in a players only meeting the team may have question questioned the vote tally.

Even if this report proves to be untrue it is clear that the relationship between Schiano and Freeman is beyond repair. If it does prove to be true it puts a lot of questions about the credibility of Schiano as the Buccaneers head coach.

To top things off Freeman did not show up to the team photo.

So to recap what Bucs life is…. MRSA outbreak, awful preseason and then a Week 1 loss to the New York Jets.

The Buccaneers have games against New Orleans and New England over the next two weeks.
