Patriots: Shane Vereen to miss 2-3 games after wrist surgery

New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen will miss two to three games after undergoing wrist surgery on Monday.

Jay Glazer reports that Vereen broke a small bone in his wrist on the first play of Sunday’s game against Buffalo. The 24-year-old Vereen ran 14 times for 101 yards and caught another seven passes for 58 yards.

Stevan Ridley will get the bulk share of carries at running back with Vereen out. Ridley was benched on Sunday following a second quarter fumble.
