Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert needed stitches following their Week 1 loss to Kansas City.
The third-year Gabbert suffered a cut on his throwing hand in the fourth quarter on Sunday and needed 15 stitches.
There was no effect on the right thumb that Gabbert suffered in mid-August according to the Florida Times Union.
Gabbert thinks he hit his hand on another player’s face mask with 1 minute, 20 seconds remaining. He finished the day 16-of-35 for 121 yards and two interceptions with a 30.8 quarterback rating.
Chad Henne would start Week 2 if Gabbert is unable to play.
