Tyler Eifert has become the favorite target of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton in camp. Eifert, 22, was the 22nd overall pick in April’s draft.
The former Notre Dame tight end has quickly established himself as a ball catching machine with the absence of A.J. Green.
A.J. Green will miss Thursday nights preseason game against the Falcons which should allow everyone to see exactly how much of the Bengals game plan Eifert will be a part of this year. Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden has hinted that Eifert could be used as a receiver in two-tight end sets.
Last year Jermaine Gresham caught 64 passes for the Bengals and went to the Pro Bowl.
