The Baltimore Ravens have lost tight end Dennis Pitta for the 2013 with a hip fracture according to multiple sources.

Pitta, 28, underwent surgery Saturday after being injured in practice earlier in the day.

Ed Dickson will move up on the depth chart but will be hard pressed to replace the 61 catches, 669 yards and seven touchdowns that Pitta amassed during the 2012 regular season. Pitta would also go on to be a key contributor in the playoffs.

Pitta was injured when he collided with safety James Ihedigbo in the end zone. He was then was carted off the practice field.

The injury to Pitta leaves Torrey Smith as the only viable receiving option on the Ravens roster.
