Redskins unlikely to ask London Fletcher to restructure deal

London Fletcher’s return to Washington is not likely to come at a reduced rate. The Redskins view Fletcher as their defensive leader and will pay him that way, even if some wonder about how long he can play at a superior level.

The Redskins owe Fletcher $5.5 million for the 2013 season, his cap number is $6.2 million.

Mike Shanahan said that the Redskins would not ask Fletcher to restructure his deal despite the teams current lack of salary cap space, according to the Washington Post.

Last year Fletcher led the team with 139 tackes and five interceptions. Fletcher also had three sacks.
