Tampa Bay releases Dan Orlovsky

Dan Orlovsky was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday. Orlovsky appeared in one game during the 2012 season.

While Orlovsky has a 6-fo0t-5, 230 pound frame, he has never found success in the NFL. In 12 career starts he has just two wins while serving as the backup on primarily bad teams.

By releasing Orlovsky the Buccaneers will save $1.5 million against the cap. The cut also pushes the team to acquire a backup to Josh Freeman. Tampa is expected to draft a quarterback rather then sign one of the remaining free agents.
