Dolphins re-sign QB Matt Moore

A thin quarterback market got thinner on Friday as the Miami Dolphins came to terms with Matt Moore. Moore has spent the past two seasons with the Dolphins appearing in 15 games.

Moore’s new deal is reportedly worth $8 million over the next two seasons.

The Dolphins had left the door open for Moore to return but the 28-year-old had hoped to attract interest as a starter. Moore must have thought that there was not serious interest in him if he choose to return to Miami now.

Moore will be one of the leagues better paid backups, and his skill set makes him worth that distinction.

The best available quarterbacks on the  market now consists of Brian Hoyer (RFA), Chase Daniel, Jason Campbell and David Garrard. The upcoming NFL Draft is also week at the position.

During his time with the Dolphins, Moore has completed 60.4% of his pass attempts for 2,628 yards, 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He will continue to serve as Ryan Tannehill’s backup going forward.
