Garrett’s brother heading out of Dallas

Jason Garrett may be back with the Dallas Cowboys in 2013 but the same can not be said for his brother John. John Garrett had served as the Cowboys tight-ends coach but is the latest member of the staff to be on their way out.

Team owner Jerry Jones vowed to make people uncomfortable at Valley Ranch and already the Cowboys have fired running backs coach Skip Peete and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Walt Williams, who was the assistant strength and conditioning coach, is also said to have been fired.

Per CBS Sports, Garrett, the brother of head coach Jason Garrett, has applied for the head coaching position at the University of Delaware. He had been with the Cowboys since 2007 when Jason Garrett was hired.

Jason Garrett is said to encouraged his brother to pursue the opening at Delaware.

Special teams coach Joe DeCamilis, who has interviewed for head coaching vacancies, may be the next one to leave Valley Ranch.

Monte Kiffin who was recently hired as defensive coordinator will make decisions on the remaining defensive assistants.

The Cowboys have finished 8-8 in back-to-back seasons.
