Randy Moss now No. 2 on 49ers depth chart at WR

Randy Moss figured to play a smaller role in San Francisco then he had in his previous NFL stops. No longer. Moss has moved up to the No. 2 spot on the 49ers depth chart.

The reason of Moss’ promotion is injuries to Kyle Williams and Mario Manningham. Manningham tore his ACL and PCL, leaving him out for the season.

Behind Moss on the depth chart will be rookie A.J. Green and Ted Ginn.

Production from Moss has been minimal this season. He has not caught more then three passes since Week 1 and has reached 75 yards just once on the season.

Expect the 49ers to target Vernon Davis more going forward. Davis has not been targeted more then three times since Week 11 when Colin Kaepernick took over the 49ers offense from Alex Smith. Davis caught six passes in that game, he has caught five since.
