Lions place Titus Young on Injuried Reserve

The Detroit Lions are done with Titus Young. Today the Lions placed the 23-year-old wide receiver on injured reserve ending his season.

While the official injury that ends Young’s season is a knee injury, there is no doubt that this was a move made to clear a roster spot. Young had not played since Nov. 18 when he lined up in the wrong spot multiple times in a loss to the Green Bay Packers. Reports floated that Young had purposely lined up in the wrong spot throughout the season.

With a poor track record and a history of being a poor teammate (ie sucker punching Louis Delmas during OTAs) the Lions will likely cut ties with him in 2013.Young finishes the season with 33 catches for 383 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Detroit also released safety Erik Coleman.
