Indianapolis Colts at Detroit Lions point spread, line and preview

The Indianapolis Colts will play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Scheduled for a 1 p.m. EST kickoff the game will be televised on CBS.

Rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has the Colts (7-4) believing they are a playoff contender. The Lions (4-7) on the other hand are trying to halt a three game losing skid.

So who is favored in the Colts versus Lions game? The Lions are a 5 point favorite against the Colts. The over/under for the game is set at 51 points. Detroit opened the week a 4.5 point favorite but the line has moved multiple times since.

Luck deserves some of the credit for the Colts improved team. Still even with the elevated passing numbers of Luck the Colts are scoring just 20.9 points per game. This is party because of their lackluster running game. While the Colts have improved on defense they still remain in the bottom half of the NFL against both the run and the pass. The Colts have allowed 24.8 points per game. Indianapolis has won four of their last five games.

The Lions have the ability to put on an air show themselves though that is partly due to having no running game and their knack for trailing. Stafford’s 3429 yards are the most in the league and Calvin Johnson is fifth in the NFL in receptions while leading the league in yards. Despite all of their offensive numbers the Lions have lost their last three games.
